It had only been a few days since Product: 3113 had been 'Awoken', but without Huge, the lab soon got a thick layer of dust and grime which drifted in through the cracks in the walls. His body still laid crumpled in a dried puddle of blood. Rigor-mortis had already set in and he was as stiff as a board. Not that anyone was going to move him any time soon.
On the first day, after 3113 had pulled on the white dress she had found she went back over to the body. She stood still with her arms hanging stiffly at her sides. She felt somewhat as if she wasn’t there. As if she was floating rather then standing with her feet safely placed on the floor. After a good few hours of her waiting for Huge to wake up she moved to kneel down in the puddle of blood. She doesn’t know what blood is, so why would she even recognise it as something to stay out of?
She sat there for a few minutes, the trim of her dress was stained red from where it rested in the blood. The she moved slowly. She put her hand on him, he was still warm. Nothing happened. She was confused. When she touched the square thing (the computer screen) from before it filled her head with information. Yeah sure she didn’t understand what the information meant but she was hoping doing it again would fix that.
Maybe it only worked with the square thing? She turned her head to look at the fizzled out computer. She stood up slowly and moved towards it. Every movement she made was like she was moving through thick custard. Slow and delayed. She stood in front of the screen like how she had done earlier that day. She placed her hand on it. Nothing.
She was beginning to feel frustrated, not that she knew that was what she was feeling. She continued to stand there for a good few hours with her hand on the screen, waiting. It wasn't until the sun shone through a small window and gleamed in her eyes that she moved away. She was beginning to feel a pain in her stomach.
There are people who are very clever and know how to make something work a certain way. And then there is people like Huge, who just so happened to make 3113 work. Pure luck. That being said he was not a stupid man. He was known in his younger days before his daughter passed away as a brilliant scientist. But when his little girl died he dropped off the radar.
The pain in 3113's stomach was hunger. Yes, Huge had made her able to eat. After all if he wanted her to be like his daughter, he would have to make her able to eat so they could have meals together. Her body was 100% Mechanoid. But it still very closely resembled the human body. So of course it still needed some of the things a human would need. Like water, food and sleep. However she still had a backup energy source in her 'heart' to keep her running for a week. That was one of the reasons why she was running so slowly. This backup would keep her running but wouldn't stop the pains of hungry and the damage of dehydration.
Anyway, she moved towards the window and looked out. For the first time she saw something more then metal walls and the dead scientist. The sun was low in the sky and was a dark ruby colour. It was 3113's first sunrise. She felt a prickle over her skin. She didn't know what to make of it. The sky was streaked with reds, yellows and oranges. But how was she to know this was any different then the murky blue that they sky would normally be during the day?
She put her hand against the glass and tapped her nail on the glass. She couldn't make up her mind if this was an image on the wall or if it was real. She then looked away because her eyes where starting to hurt from looking at the sun. She saw little dots in her vision for a few second before her vision corrected it.
She then looked back over at Huge. He still had not woke up. She moved over to him and knelt down again. Her knees where in the blood this time, staining them red. It was clumpy now, in the process of drying. She touched him again, placing her hand on his cheek. He was no longer warm, but ice cold. She stood up and moved over to the table where she had laid before being 'awoken'. There was a sheet there and somewhere in her head she heard a voice telling her to grab the sheet and put it over Huge to keep him warm.
And she did just that. She put it over him in almost a gracious way before heading over to the computer again. She tried the screen again and n nothing happened. Maybe she wasn’t doing it right? She remembered that Huge had pressed some buttons before hand. She moved over to the desk which had lots of buttons all over it.
She jabbed away rather carelessly. Just hitting every single one. When she had hit all of them at least once she stopped and put her hand on the screen. Nothing. She felt a spark of annoyance in her and suddenly, as if that spark had come to life, the screen sparked and shattered and cut into her hand. She pulled and quickly and looks at her palm. Black thick liquid, which in the light of morning had highlights of cherry-red, oozed out. It looked more like oil then blood.
She walked away back over to the table and climbed onto it and sat alone. Her palm was hurting but she didn't know how to stop it. She didn't even know really if it was bad thing or good. She moved to lay down and clenched her hand into a fist and closed her eyes. Maybe if she slept like Huge then when she woke he would be awake too?
What 3113 didn't know was that while she rested a SOS signal was being sent out from one of the buttons she had jabbed. It would travel as far as it could to try and seek anyone’s help.
3113 had been resting for almost 2 days when she heard sounds. Her red eyes opened and she laid there still before sitting up. Huge was still on the floor. It wasn’t him moving. The lab had a thick layer of dust, and even she herself was covered. She could hear something. She didn’t know it but it was the sound of a ship engine. Her SOS had been answered...
...but by who?
