The spaceports of Alaerin never slept. Like the luxury resorts, exotic shopping centers and various tourist attractions that space port was choc full of travelers every moment of the planet's day and night cycle. Either newcomers landing to get their own little slice of paradise, or those about to return to their more humdrum lives. Despite the towering resorts in the skyline of Alaerin dwarfing the spaceport it still was a pristine example of imperial engineering. It was built from polished steel and glass. It, like the rest of this planet, was a powerful statement of imperial prosperity. A beacon of imperial prosperity, trying to show off worlders the wealth that the empire offered to those who would lay down their arms and submit to the emperor's rule. It was a dramatic statement, but the banners clearly displaying imperial symbols, commemorating military victories, even so far as to have statues of the emperor in the starport.
Skarlet passed through the crowds, her two bright blue braids streaming behind her as she walked. Skarlet remarked on the fact that she had the exact same statue in Nassau, the space station that the Exiles used as a home base. Although hers was stolen as a blatant trophy, also it was covered in all sorts of foul graffiti. She passed by it without giving it any mind, she had a flight to catch. Skarlet made a note to circumvent the armed and armored imperial soldiers that were stationed here to ensure no radicals would seek to use Alaerin as an example. She was wearing her more casual atire, which by all means that it was rather ostentatious and pretty revealing. She caught a few stares from some of the people bored and looking for anything to distract them from the crushing boredom of waiting in lines. Skarlet didn't return their stares, she only continued to move through the starport. Someone bumped into her, be turned to apologize but the glare from her blood red eyes stopped him from saying anything, he just quickly slinked away, rushing off to disappear into the crowd. Skarlet continued towards her destination... everyone had a flight to catch.
In Skarlet's case it was the Restelica. The ship was a massive cruise liner. A state of the art behemoth of a vessel that could accommodate hundreds or even thousands of passengers in order to pamper them with all of the amenities that any of the resorts in Alaerin could offer. Just like the many hotels it was also a fully serviced casino. While there was plenty of other attractions, entire decks of the ships were dedicated to the tables meant to ensure that more money could be drained from the patrons besides the sky high prices for the tickets. It was all state of the art, from the climate control, to the air filtering for smokers that put most hospitals to shame, to the fact that many of the wealthier patrons had digital links to bank accounts letting them gamble all they pleased without having to throw down a chip on the board. It's size could compare to some of the capital ships that the empire fleets fielded, it even borrowed military technology to make use of armored glass and shields to give it's passengers beautiful views of the stars and nebulae that would form a perfect backdrop for the charted course.
Skarlet walked through the security checkpoint. Several other imperial soldiers were manning checkpoints to scan each of the passengers. Skarlet placed her dufflebag on the conveyor belt for the scanner. She held her arms out to the side as the visible beam of the scanner passed over her. she was confident that nothing would come up.Her pistol was designed by the empire to defeat scanners, the same went for the knives currently concealed in her sleeves. Unfortunately her bigger toys would have to wait. The smile didn't fade from her face when the small drone hovered infront of her, passing a similar beam over her face. It was a retinal scan, checking identification which Skarlet also knew wouldn't be any use in pinpointing exactly who she was. Her eyes weren't natural, and thus it was disgustingly easy to have them come up as one of her many alias's when some subtly was needed in place of the chaos and widespread destruction that she preferred. Even them being artificial wouldn't set off any red lights, it was increasingly common for similar mods to show up in the rich and wealthy, thanks to modern technology even your eyes could match your evening dress while keeping your work schedule and contacts in track. The soldier monitoring the scanner didn't realize that Skarlet's incorporated more military hardware then the armor he was wearing.
"Alright miss Lacroix, enjoy your stay."
Skarlet plucked her passport from his hand before grabbing her bag. Just as she expected. This opperation had months of planning that were all coming together. It would be impossible for the giddy killer to keep the mad smile from her face while she walked up the boarding tube.
She was just at the entrance to the Restelcia when she saw a familiar face. She actually giggled when she saw him. He was the exact opposite of Skarlet, a larger built man with several tattoos that were the sort of thing that you saw in professional merc units. The same went for the metal chain of dogtags that could be seen just under his shirt. His short black hair was shaved into a small mohawk, which contrasted hilariously with the Hawaiian shirt that he wore, flower design and all. It was pretty stereotypical for someone trying to blend while being on vacation.
"I hope you brought something better to wear Delrosa." He looked down at his shirt, "What? I didn't think it's that bad." Skarlet chucked while he fell in line to walk beside her, "Oh I think you should wear it in Nassau, I'm sure the men would love to see that." He didn't seem to take the joke well as the doors opened up the Restelcia.
While the ship was ascetically pleasing, the inside was stunning. Neon lights, aquariums with the exotic fish that were native to Alaerin. The moment that you entered the casino was visible, they clearly wanted you to spend as much time in there as possible. The entire place obviously cost a fortune to construct. Skarlet and Delrosa walked past them towards the lifts to the decks with the rooms. "Both of our teams are already onboard." Skarlet passed by a waitress whose outfit did next to nothing to cover her. Skarlet did a spin as she passed her, plucking a drink from her tray and taking a sip. "Good, and our package?" Her partner looked towards her, "Just got the message 3 minutes ago, it's on board and in position." The right money in the right hands ensured that you could bring anything into the storage bay of the ship, cruise ships like these were always choc full of partiers wanting all sorts of illegal chems. Skarlet just made use of channels that were already there, it was a very no questions asked business. The armaments the Exiles carried aboard were a precious few for the two teams of 4 men. Weapons designed to bypass scanners were highly illegal and rare. So Skarlet took a generous sip of her drink, a artifical female voice rang out declaring that the ship was preparing to launch."Perfect." She looked down to the watch on her hand, as Delrosa paused in front of the doors to a lift, "You coming?" Skarlet looked up to him, "Do you really think I'm rooming with you guys? I decided to treat myself to a suite... nice one too." The Exile wasn't exactly happy, "Your spending too much money Skarlet." She tilted her head to the side, both of her braids dangling, "You mean my money, and don't worry your shaved little head, we'll get it all back." She held up her hand, on a small digital display a 48:00 blinked. "48 hours, then we get to business. Try not to have too much fun will you."
