0001:
After Contact
One year after the ancient Elusyians first contacted mankind a hundred years ago, humans were gradually accepting their place within the universe. Aliens from another world seemed like that of fiction to them at the time and it was a cosmic adjustment for the species, but the patient and kind Elusyians slowly introduced their knowledge of the cosmos to the species and, after a few years, humankind accepted these visitors.
Advancement
The Elusyians were a kind and helpful race who sought to bring harmony throughout the galaxy. Their main mission was to introduce, share and combine the technologies throughout the worlds so that all races can grow and flourish together. Earth, being in the state of advancement it was in, attracted the Elusyians and, upon their arrival, these two races traded and shared their technologies together and both began to steadily grow.
Exploration
With Elusyian technology at their exposal, the humans advanced their Space craft and were surprised at how efficiently they could travel between their world and neighboring worlds in their solar system. It wasn’t long before the Elusyians introduced the humans to their warp speed technology and brought them to their home world of Elusya. After this, the humans join the Elusyians in their exploration of neighboring worlds. The Age of Exploration had begun.
0010:
Settlement
As the two races traveled alongside one another throughout their corner of their galaxy, many different worlds and races were discovered. Both Elusyians and humans would regularly settle upon these new worlds, but not all natives were as welcoming as some and thus, many battles against beings, sentient and naught, waged. Though the humans never left home without a boot knife, the peace loving Elusyians were ill-prepared for such bloodshed. Along with such battles, the elements of these new worlds presented a war of their own; one in which many of these settlers were ill-prepared for.
Restoration
After many battles against all obstacles, both humans and Elusyians took a few years to recuperate their forces. In this time they also began to put their technologies together to expand their knowledge of weapons. While the Elusyians developed ways to defend and protect, the humans’ specialty has and always will be destruction, and their deadly arsenal represented this without folly. Together, however, their combined strength and technologies helped them best any obstacle that presented itself, allowing their exploration and colonization of the galaxy to continue.
Growth
Through the discovery of new worlds and new materials, the growth and development between all races during this age skyrocketed. Developments in technology, cities and travel accelerated at an alarming rate. This was the golden age of growth and development, though this time would be the most peaceful time the cosmos would ever experience.
0025:
Expansion
With the growth and development of the many worlds, poverty, disease, famine and many other effects of overpopulation plagued the core worlds and, because of this, the races began to expand to new worlds in order to offer places of refuge for the many citizens within their territories, but even with all their advancements, many worlds were still resistant to these extraterrestrial settlers.
Power
While the Elusyians spent many countless hours and exhausted their magicks to find solutions to these problems, the humans took a more forceful approach to acquiring the supplies and worlds they needed. With guns and glory, mankind took much of what they needed from the worlds surrounding their territories. Though claiming that they only conquered worlds that lacked sentient beings, this did not sit well with many of the other races that shared territory with them.
Greed
As mankind expanded through means in which most other races did not agree with, their influence and resources grew far more rapidly than any of the other races at this time. Though many, at first, disagreed with this method, some soon began to follow the humans and attempted the same, but naturally disputes began to arise and arguments over who found what first slowly began to erupt.
0037:
Conflict
With resources scare and jealousy rising, many races began to keep more and more to themselves. Regularly they would step on each other’s toes when going after resources, which gave rise to many conflicts, some of which even turned violent.
Apportioned
In order to solve this issue, many races and galactic nations separated into territories. These self-governed territories, though still united, coexisted with one-another for a short duration, though some nations felt as though their portion of the territories were unfairly distributed, which created much tension throughout the nations.
Tension
Tension was so thick during these untrusted times you could see the borders outlined in space. Stricter ad stricter laws were put in place in these territories as the years past on; some directly put in place to discriminate against other races or give one territory more power than the other. It got to a point where a young Mythran girl was imprisoned and executed for breaking one of these discriminating laws in human territory. War quickly followed.
0050:
Five Year’s War
The Five Year’s War was an explosive civil war that erupted shortly after an execution of a Mythran child. Though the Human territories were the ones mostly targeted by the others, their powerful weapons and merciless tactics proved them more than a match for any of their attackers.
0055:
Declaration of Intergalactic Independence
The gruesome Five Year’s civil war ended when the humans agreed to separate entirely from the galactic union they had helped found. Nearly all humans left the union along with large groups of other races who also supported them. Once their separation was completed, the war was finally over. Though the union had its regrets for casting the humans out on their own, the humans more than thrived.
Rise of the Imperium
The humans quickly regained their footing in the galaxy and harvested many resources they acquired during the war. With these resources, they gave rise to what will forever be known as the Galactic Imperium. This new power in the galaxy spread through the world’s backdoor to new and undiscovered worlds and the relentless tactics the Imperial explorers used to conquer these lands helped quickly accelerate their advancement, but this growth was tripled with their change in government and the rise of the first Emperor.
Radical Reformation
Emperor Valyn Yazarael brought forth a dark age of tyranny throughout the galactic territories. This twisted and cruel ruler came to power with the discovery of a supernatural entity known as a Galaxy Angel. With the power this entity possessed, the Imperium’s power grew with light speed. Through emperor Yazarael’s eyes, unfortunately, he saw not a Galaxy Angel, but a Human Galaxy Angel. Inferring that this power could only be possessed by humans, he proclaimed that humans were the dominant race and placed them in higher standings than other non-human citizens.
0073:
Rebellion
Naturally, this was very unsettling for many imperial citizens, even the humans, and rebellion quickly flared up. Many of the lesser policed worlds of the Imperial territories became a haven for rebels of all races, but as Imperial power rose and Yazarael’s influence spread, it became increasingly difficult for not only rebels, but anything that the Emperor set his eyes upon.
Imperial Crusade
As his power grew so did his madness. Soon, the idea that humans were the dominant race consumed him. He believed that all other races had no place in this world and ordered that they all be eliminated. The Imperial Territories were the first to be purged. Many citizens fled, but many others were slaughtered. Along with these alien races within Imperial territories, the Emperor took his crusades outside of this territory further into the galaxy’s backdoor, however, the Imperium’s power did not go unmatched. Many Elusyians fought against The Imperium directly, though the power of Valyn Yazarael and his Galaxy Angel was more than enough to crush the Elusyian rebellion and shatter the once peaceful and kind race.
Elusyian Extermination
Simply destroying their rebellion and diplomacy was not enough for the bloodthirsty Emperor. He feared the Elusyian’s ability to manipulate magic and technology, which lead to him banning the use of all magic throughout the Imperial Territories and claimed that the Elusyian race was a direct threat to human survival, which started the Elusyian Extermination: a time where Imperials would actively hunt down and murder any Elusyian they came in contact with. By law, Elusyians were to be killed on sight.
Dawn of the Alliance
With many Elusyians fleeing to the original Union, imperial soldiers broke treaty after treaty invading these territories in their efforts to purge the galaxy of this race. Feeling threatened and insulted by the Imperium, the Union, along with many other rebellious races that wished to see the Imperium’s fall, banned together to form the Galactic Alliance in order to counter them
0080:
War of the Worlds
Rebellion and war raged on for years. The Imperium’s crushing force was thought to easily shatter the Alliance as soon as it attempted to found itself, however, the Alliance held steadily on the defensive. The Alliance’s defenses held for quite some time, however, the Imperium’s force seemed endless and it was estimated that the Alliance would not hold for too long. The Alliance would soon be crushed. With victory sealed, the Emperor divided his power to not only assaulting the Alliance, but to continue the conquest through the backdoor of the galaxy.
Imperial Withdraw
Their conquest was going perfect as planned, that is, until the Imperial crusaders stumbled upon the Orcish territories. No force seemed to more greatly oppose the Imperium like the Orcs. Their purely savage tactics and war-worshiping religion made them more than a threat to the Imperium. The mad Emperor Yazarael suddenly pulled his troops from the Alliance territories in order to focus his efforts against the Orcish Hordes. The Alliance took this sudden withdraw as a display of peace from the Imperium, though they’ve yet to let their guard down.
0090:
Galactic Reconstruction
The war left many worlds in Alliance territory destroyed or severely damaged. Economies were broken, morale was dismal at best and government was unstable. During this time the Alliance spent many of its resources reconstructing itself to its former glory. It took a few years to do so, but with some outside help from worlds in Free Space, the Alliance was once again stabilized and was saved from an almost imminent collapse.
Death of the Emperor
An ironic twist of fate occurred within the Empire that drove the late emperor Yazarael to suicide. His most powerful weapon, the Galaxy Angel, was dying. Its human life expectancy was wearing thin, but the emperor would not let this powerful weapon go. Before his death, he instructed his scientists to construct a life-support machine that would keep the Angel alive for a millennia after his passing. Also, in his will, he appointed a trusted person as Empress after his passing since she was the only other person aside from himself who could harness the Angel’s power.
Uncharted Exploration
Recently, both the Imperium and the Alliance have begun exploration of the Uncharted Territories for their own purposes. The Alliance, as it always has, seeks new worlds, new races and new opportunities at growth and development, but the Imperium seeks out more than just that. They seek out new ways to power their weapons and expand their totalitarian dictatorship throughout the stars.
0100:
Zone Wars
Now, a hundred years after the founders of the Imperium were introduced to the galaxy, the Zone Wars have begun. The territories occupied by the Alliance are fragile and unstable, but their democratic society and heroic military keeps the morale high and hopes even higher. Stressed by wars currently waging in Horde Zones, the Imperium desperately combs the Uncharted Territory for other supernatural and powerful technology they can use to once again assert their dominance among the stars.
With bandits, pirates, mystics and mysteries hidden deep within space, brave souls still travel the cosmos to either fight for what they believe in or find peace within the vast star ocean. No matter the reason, turbulence constantly stirs their lives and no one is taken prisoner here, in the Zone Wars.
