Zone Wars Factions/Organizations
The Galactic Imperium
Founded by the Humans of Old Earth, the Imperium is the largest known Empire within the galaxy. They are a totalitarian dictatorship that focuses on expanding their military power and technology for their own purposes. The Imperium is a force heavily devoted to expanding their power and influence, and they have the means to do so.
Using a combination of both man and mechanized warfare, the Imperial army is a powerful force to be recognized. Their ruthless tactics and fearsome battle strategies have forced many worlds to submit to them. Through their crusades across their sector of space they have conquered many worlds. Recently, a law was passed throughout Imperial territory stating that the use of magic was punishable by death. Because Elusyian magic was far more powerful than human magic, the late Emperor placed a ban, ordered all Elusyians and other magic users in their territory to be contained.
Though the Imperial Crusades have been halted, the Imperium still look far out into the future and plan to expand in to the Uncharted Zones in order to make their name known there as well.
The Alliance
During the peak of the Imperial Crusades, many alien races along with a rebellious alliance of humans came together in the face of a common enemy. These rebels formed the diplomatic Alliance in order to stop the Imperium’s totalitarian rule from spreading further into the galaxy. Aside from this, The Alliance has also begun exploring the farthest reaches of the Uncharted Territories in order to improve their knowledge of the galaxy and its inhabitants.
Made up of a collection of different races, the Alliance Army is composed of roughneck rebels who are well-trained to fight off any danger. Though their tactics and technology are less advanced than the Imperium, most rebels specialize in Guerilla Warfare and are known to take any situation into their own hands as they see fit. Attempting to put these space dogs down might result in you getting bit.
During this time, more diplomats in the Alliance Embassy have begun to argue over how to deal with both the Imperium and Uncharted space exploration. While some argue to strengthen their military defenses, others argue that exploration and knowledge are more important at this time. Every day the Alliance grows more unstable and with the pending threat of Imperial aggression, this only adds to their tension.
The Horde
Not known to many outside Imperial Territory are the Green Skins; a race of fiendish creatures whose pride lies in war and battle. During the time of the Imperium’s crusades they fell into Green Skin space and attempted to conquer the primitive beasts, however, their raw might prove enough to fend off whatever the Imperium has thrown at them. Now, the warring worlds of Green Skin have settled their differences and have come together to face off against the Imperium.
Green Skin warriors rely on fierce primitive technologies and weaponry specially crafted for nothing short of completely eliminating an enemy. They lack the need of most sophisticated armor since many of them can continue fighting even after being shot numerous of times with conventional weapons. They are a race of pure war and battle that see combat as a sport where one asserts their honor by showing off their scars.
Because of their limited technology they are unable to perform deep space travel, which limits them to planets in their own territory and the Imperial worlds boarder lining them. They are pinned within their own territory, though because of the amount of equipment salvaged from Imperial attacks, they are slowly building a better understanding of more advanced technologies.
Sons Of Omega
The Sons Of Omega are a secret organization of Imperial Citizens who see mechanoids as the future. Though they believe that mechanical beings are far superior to biological beings, they do not view robots as superior. Instead, the Sons Of Omega believe that only one who is originally of flesh and blood can, through steadily adding mechanical parts to themselves, can ascend to super, almost god-like beings.
Many of Omega’s members are staff in the mechanics department of the Imperial’s Mechanoid Reserch and Development Department. Mixing profession with pleasure, these workers take their knowledge and spread it amongst their members as well as perform the surgical improvements on followers of the cult.
Because the Imperium does not view the Sons Of Omega as a threat, they have allowed them to carry on with their workings as it drastically improves the output of Mechanoid soldiers for the Empire; however, the Sons of Omega are slowly moving into the final stages of what they call Revelation: A time where everyone in the galaxy recognizes their religion as the one and only true religion. There first step: commanding and controlling all Mechanoids in the galaxy to rise up and conquer all life forms with who are absent of any mechanical enhancements.
Outlaws/Bandits/Pirate
Throughout the cosmos lay danger at every turn. With the impending war looming over the stars between Imperials and the Alliance, lawbreakers and rogues plague the star ocean. Hijacking transports and raiding merchant ships, each raider group has the goal in mind to either survive these rough times or make a name for themselves to be known throughout the galaxy.
Space pirate technology varies depending on their available resources. Usually their equipment is composed of heaps of scrap metal fused together to build whatever they need. Also, as skilled hackers, many of these rogues spend their time reprogramming stolen mechanoids in order to assist them during their day-to-day tasks.
Army of the Damned
The Army of the Damned are the main fighting force of the Gorgan race. They were established once the Gorgan homeworld was exhausted of sentient beings to feed from. During this time the Gorgans began exploring other planets in search of victims. Though some of these planets were easily taken over, there were those who challenged the might of these demonic beings, thus the Army of the Damned was founded in order to battle and conquer prospective worlds.
Though they are rarely assembled for massive battles, the Army of the Damned is highly skilled in the art of both melee and magical combat. They also have technologically advanced warships as well that they’ve constructed from stolen technology and the bonding of both Magic and Science.
Though the Gorgan race rarely expands outside the Dark Sectors of the galaxy, some expedition teams have begun to explore the Uncharted Territories in search of new food sources and beings with higher concentrations of spiritual and magical energies. Some of these explorations have caused the Gorgans to run into both Imperials and Alliance soldiers, though many of these encounters are unrecorded.
