Sean was less focused on the way she quickly operated on his friend, and more focused on her. He watched her with intimidating calmness that was only accentuated by the loaded gun held in front of himself. Whenever she would happen to glance up at him, she would always meet with his eyes. He never moved them for even a second. Something told him that she was the type of person who, if given an inch, could cause some serious trouble. "You should have some faith in me, I have pulled shrapnel out of people's skulls... without lobotomizing them."
It had nothing to do with having faith in her medical abilities. She seemed skilled enough. It was more about having faith that she wouldn't try anything tricky and uphold her end of the bargain. "He'll live, although I recommend that he takes he easy and stays off the leg if possible. I'd hate to see some long term tissue damage if he lets the wound reopen."
Sean's eyes narrowed skeptically. She'd love it if Kairu was incapacitated. One less person she'd have to worry about. He couldn't help but feel like she was more wary of the swordsman than himself. Sean wouldn't be surprised. Kairu just oozed warrior all over. Kairu seemed the type who could take an enemies life without a second thought or any type of negotiation.
Unfortunately Sean didn't work that way. He was a soldier, but a soldier of peace and compromise. Never would his bullets fly ahead of his heart. Even now, after having several opportunities to permanently rid himself of Nyx, he'd yet to do so. Before, he could tell himself it was for Kairu's sake that he leave the woman alive, but once she finishes healing him, what would be holding him back from putting a bullet in her head.
His eyes flickered off of her for the slightest second as the thought crossed his mind. He wondered if he should view his kindness as a weakness. It would be so easy to finish her off after she helps them, but Sean wasn't one to go back on his word. The machinery chimed in the background and Sean re-glued his attention to the spider-woman as she made her way towards the anti-venom.
She'd prepared several vials of the serum; perhaps an act of good faith? She really did a good job at playing the nice girl captive. Everything aside from the annoyed expression on her face. She readied a syringe, and a bit of suspicion was roused within Sean. What if that was more poison and she was only trying to trick him? He started to tap his index finger against the trigger of his gun as he stared directly at her.
She probably sensed the uneasy waves he produced, which was why she injected herself first to show that it wasn't poison. Of course, even if it was, she probably had an anti-venom for that as well. Still, Sean did his best to try and stay optimistic. Though he learned his lesson the last time he turned his back on her. It won't happen again, and if Kairu doesn't get better... let's just say there's no anti-venom for a bullet in the head.
"There, I finished my half of the deal. He should come to in a bit, though he'll have a bad headache."
Sean's eyes relaxed a bit, but he was still staring directly at her. "Don't forget, we still have a little trip to make to the next planet. We're not finished with you just yet." He smirked a bit as he spoke his next sentence. He wanted to see if he could get under her skin. "And since Kairu's incapacitated, it might be a good idea to wait until he's fully recovered before we go there next. Please, make yourself at home."
