Zone Wars Galactic Zones
Horde Zone (Green) (Galaxy’s Back Door)
The Galaxy’s backdoor refers to the area of the galaxy scraping the Boarders of the Imperial Zone. This back area of the galaxy, as reported by Imperial Officials, is heavily populated by clusters of warring planets. These worlds, which are extremely resistant to Imperial Influence, have all settled their differences and come together forming what they call the Orcish Horde. This part of the galaxy, now the Horde Zone, is heavily populated by Orcs and other war-hungry races ready to spill the blood of any outsider. Warp lanes are yet to be developed in this zone due to Orcish raiders attacking anything not baring the Horde’s emblem.
Imperial Zone (Red)
The most technologically advanced zone in all the galaxy, the Imperial Zone is owned by the totalitarian Galactic Imperium. Though the core worlds are heavily populated by humans, many of the outer worlds have begun allowing other races to settle once again. A ban on magic is still on place, however, the ban on races alien to humans have been recently lifted when the new Empress ascended to the throne. Even with this ban lifted, many alien races are still treated unfairly and rebel extremists plague this zone like a virus, though nothing seems to slow down the quick advancement of these zones. The city and residential worlds are simply fantastic when compared to that of other worlds and even alien races have to admit that they are willing to deal with the discrimination from humans if it means they can continue living within the Imperium.
Alliance Zone (Blue)
The democratic Galactic Alliance holds control over all of the Alliance Zone. Too close for comfort, their borders almost kiss those of the Imperial Zone, which makes the worlds on this outer rim chaotic and tense. After the previous war with the Imperium came to an end, the Alliance’s government has begun to repair itself, but much of it has fallen apart. Corrupt democrats have been elected in to office due to the rising discomfort and fear of another Imperial assault. Much funding and attention has gone into war efforts instead of Alliance citizens and the overall economy. Though life in the core worlds may be comfortable, much of the outer worlds are heavily populated by working-class and poverty-stricken citizen who generally end up enlisting in the military.
Free Zone (Yellow)
[/center]Intergalactic space that is generally free of any single government. This Zone is full of independent worlds of varying species who do not partake in the warring affairs of either the Alliance or the Imperium. Though their technologies and economies vary from world to world, the Free Zones are filled with opportunities of space-faring and benefits for galactic merchants. These worlds generally serve as suppliers to the Alliance as well as offering a jump-off point into the Uncharted Zones of the Galaxy. Because of the lack of an overseeing government, however, the Free Zone can be very dangerous due to heavy pirate and bandit activity throughout the Zone.
Uncharted Zones (Brown)
The Uncharted Zones are just how the name suggests them to be: Zones that have yet to be explored and colonized by over-ruling governments. Many expeditions from all space-faring races have been conducted within these Uncharted Zones and there have been reports of strange anomalies and mysterious worlds throughout the Zone. Many explore these areas of space in search of secrets, technologies and resources that they may use to advance their own causes, but these unpredictable environments pose a lethal obstacle for anyone who is ill-prepared.
In this Zone, no one will hear you scream.
Dark Zone (Purple)
The Dark Zone is on the farthest reaches of the Uncharted Zone where suns are few and far in between. These worlds are ruled by the demonic Gorgan race who feed off of the life force of sentient beings. Many of the sentient life in this Zone have been culled and enslaved by the Gorgans. They build shrines, alters and monuments to worship the Gorgans as “gods”. Their existence is hardly known by anyone outside of this Zone and any knowledge of them is treated as delusions or works of fiction, but these mysterious creatures are easily the most powerful and magically inept race throughout the galaxy.
