America is great.
We consider ourselves to be the good guys.
We excuse the bad things Americans have done in the past.
Our forefather came to this land, and claimed it, and reshaped it.
It is a good land, and Americans are a good people.
We have much to be proud of.
We defend our homeland.
What if, in the far future, an alien civilization from outer space comes to our world? What if they decide to colonize our homeland? Does it make them bad people to want to colonize our land? We wouldn't let them. We would fight them. What if we lost the fight? How would they treat us? What if they treated us badly? Many years later, would we forgive them? Would we say it was destiny, and in the long run it was a good thing? Would we forget about it? Would everyone else forget about it? Would it stop mattering after a while? What is the difference between Europeans conquering the Americas,
and Aliens conquering the Earth?

This is a writing topic I have come across and found it rather intriguing. I though it matched the themes of this site, and so I decided to share it with you all. Obviously, it comes from the view point of an American, but anyone can write in that perspective, can't they? I hope you enjoy.
Just a reminder, this isn't a thread, this a single person topic that you would post your response to under this header. I thought it would be fun to see each person's response or ideas on this. The piece would focus on answering the majority of the large paragraph of questions. Have fun with it!
