Weapon(s): Kairu owns an array of weapons he is extremely efficient at using all of them.
Plasma Claws- Kairu almost always carries these with him, unless he is in his casual clothes, then he will just take his sword. When retracted these look like lightly armored gloves and nothing more. The two ten inch long plasma blades are deployed through neurological stimulation, such as thoughts, this allows them to be worn while wielding other weapons, without worry of them deploying by accident. The gloves are made of heat resistant materials to protect the wearer from the blades which are rather close to the wearer's hand. The blade's color change based on the amount of power left in them, going from light blue for fully charged to dark blue before turning off. These can be powered from the Plasma Guard.
Plasma Guard- Kairu's best friend. Although he can not carry the large shield everywhere he goes, he brings it along with him whenever he can. It is one of the Sel'valians' most advanced weapons, many were made although these shields are now far and few between, easily worth as much as a small frigate. The shield consists of an armored bracer, made out protomaterium, a highly advanced alloy of steel infused with proto magic to give it significantly more strength, it has a slight blue tint to it. The bracer houses a small screen that displays crucial information about any weapons or devices connected to its network, it can send energy to devices connected to it. The plasma guard is deployed by neurological stimulation, the same as the plasma claws. Kairu has made a slight modification to the traditional plasma guard to better accommodate the plasma claws, if he activates both, the plasma claws on the same arm as the shield deactivate to allow him to block with the shield better. The shield is very adept at blocking small arms fire and melee weapons with its plasma field. The shield works by burning up anything before it penetrates the shield, although larger projectiles can penetrate through it. The shield, being a field of plasma does repair itself after its been punctured though. The shield also has one main feature, it can absorb energy from enemies' plasma weapons and energy guns and use this to power itself and anything connected to its power network. The power network has a limited range of ten feet though. The shield can either be a small round shield, or a full body shield wall, based on the setting, and like the plasma claws, the energy levels can be visually seen based on color.
Sapphire Slayer- This is Kairu's main offensive weapon which he has dubbed "Sapphire Slayer" due to the dark blue color of the proto magic that emanates from the blade. He always carries the sword with him no matter what he is doing. The energy swords used by Sel'valians are legendary, perfect pieces of craftsmanship made out of protomaterium, a well made Sel'valian energy sword could take up to five years to make, and they are only made by hand. A Sel'valian warrior's sword is thought to contain the warrior's very soul and is presented to the warrior after he has completed all of his training and becomes a full fledged warrior. The process in which the sword is bound to the warrior's soul is still unknown to outsiders, but this process makes the already powerful proto magic within the metal even stronger as well as giving the weapon infinite energy as long as the warrior is alive, this also gives the metal the sword is made of nearly ten times its normal strength. Despite these benefits, there are some major disadvantages. If the sword is destroyed somehow, the warrior who's soul is bound to it dies. Also, since the warrior's soul is bound to the weapon, anyone who gets a hold of it is quite literally holding the warrior's soul in their hand, giving them almost full control over the warrior's actions, as well a learning every detail about them and their lives. For this reason, a Sel'valian warrior is very protective over his or her sword, and some would quite literally kill anyone who dared even reach for it. The sword works very much like a plasma weapon, but instead of using plasma to burn and cut through almost anything it uses very potent proto magic. The proto magic can sometimes vary in color but it is most often a light to dark blue, like the metal that houses it. Kairu's sword is a deep dark blue. Along with this sword is a specially enchanted sheath to hold it, as it would burn through any conventional sheath.
Apparel: Kairu does not own too much clothes, just what is necessary and nothing more. Kairu does not usually dress casually, unless he feels like he is completely safe. Kairu's casual wear usually consists of a pair of jeans of sweat pants and a t-shirt, and he is almost always wearing the same sweat shirt over this. It is a normal white sweat shirt with a black zipper running down the middle and the face of a tiger stenciled on the back of it in black. In this outfit he carries his sword with its sheath slung across his back, the tiger only peeking out from behind the sword. He had bought it at a market when he was still on the Sel'valos, with his family so it held some sentimental value to him.
The outfit you will normally see Kairu in is his traveling clothes. His traveling clothes actually consists of his lightly armored plasma claw gloves along with black hiking boots with steel toes. Covering his body he wears light armor made mostly out of black leather that, in some spots, is in a scaled pattern made out of steel plates. This outfit provides quite good protection while still allowing Kairu to be agile. This outfit also serves as his outfit for when he wants to be stealthy. Kairu carries his plasma guard with him in this outfit sometimes, but it mostly depends on what he is planning to do.
If Kairu knows he is facing a full fledged battle, he will most likely don his heavy armor. The armor is of Sel'valian make, like most of his other equipment. The armor had been his father's, passed down to him when he died. Even though it was his father's, the armor is still quite advanced. The armor consists of many pieces, and can take quite a while to put on even with assistance. The armor is made up of many thick protomaterium plates that can, by itself protect the wearer from most melee attacks and even small arms gunfire. The protomaterium armor accommodates the plasma guard perfectly, the bracer that houses the plasma shield actually replaces the bracer usually used in the set of armor. The armor generates a small force-field around itself for some extra protection, although it quickly runs out without the help of the plasma guard providing energy. The force-field can stop all small arms fire and some medium arms fire, but unlike the plasma guard, can not replenish itself. Since the armor is so thick, it can weigh up to three hundred pounds. The armor is so heavy, that one would not be able to move in it if it was conventional armor. The armor does have some movement assistance mechanisms in it, making it a hybrid between full fledged power armor, which provides more strength to the user than he would have without it on and normal armor. The movement assistance simply allows Kairu to move at a reasonable speed with the armor on, and it requires much less energy than a fully energized suit of armor, allowing more up-time. Even with this system, Kairu tires faster in this armor and is slower, because it still requires some physical exertion but offers great protection.

BIOGRAPHY
-Early Years-
During his early child-hood Kairu was just like any other kid, he would play and have fun, and mostly waste away the day with friends. He was very out-going and friendly during this time, but his personality has changed greatly since then. He lived on Sel'valos for most of his life, a beautiful planet on which the Sel'valians called home. The planet was a small planet, mostly tropical and temperate rainforests, only the poles having any ice or snow on them. The Sel'valian cities were mostly near the shore lines of a massive ocean that covered a good portion of the planet. Kairu lived in one of these proud cities, with his family during this time. His family was a legendary family from Sel'valos, many great warriors of the past Kairu's ancestors. Kairu looked up to these people as a young boy aspiring to become legendary like his ancestors, but there is one person he looked up to the most. Kairu looked up to his older brother the most. Kairu would follow his brother to the training grounds almost everyday when he was still training. He went to watch him training everyday until Kairu's training started, when he was ten years old.
-Kairu's Training-
The first few years of training were hard for Kairu, even though he sort of knew what to expect from watching his brother. The first few years of Sel'valian training were mostly conditioning, preparing the body to wield the weapons of a warrior. These trials were very rigorous, Kairu would sometimes be called upon before the sun even rises for training and continuing until sundown. His trainer had thrown many different exercises and trials his way, from hiking up a mountain with leg weights to swimming across the lake next to the city he lived in over and over again. The training was mostly for endurance and strength, speed and reflexes were to be taught with technique. Kairu continued like this for the first two years. Until he began to learn to use his weapons. His first lessons were how to use the sword, a Sel'valian warrior's most important weapon. Mastery of the sword is a very daunting task for anyone to accomplish, especially the Sel'valian style of sword fighting. Many prospective warrior's fail during this portion, but Kairu was a naturally, breezing through the training, and quickly learning how to effectively use the plasma guard. The plasma claws were a little hard for Kairu, since he was already so used to the longer reach of the sword, but after seven long years of training, he mastered all of the weapons in his arsenal. Kairu's brother had started to stray from the path during these years, missing training more and more often. Kairu did not worry himself very much at first but it got progressively worse. The person he had once looked up to was slowly disappearing. As he grew older, the naiviness of young age started to fade and he no longer saw his brother as perfect, he disgraced the family. When his brother was exiled from Sel'valos, Kairu was shocked at first, and then angry. He blamed his brother, the person he once saw as perfect for his family's misery and disgrace. When his brother left, Kairu had already completed most of his training, all that remained was the final ceremony where he became a full-fledged warrior and received his sword. He vaguely remembers the events in the ceremony, particularly the moment when his soul was bound to his sword, but when it was over and he walked out of the mountain temple a warrior, Sapphire Slayer in hand, he was happy for the first time since his brother left, but this happiness was short-lived.
-Disaster-
Sel'valos, being near the edge of the solar system in the uncharted zone, has faced danger before, but Kairu had always seen Sel'valos drive away their foes, that is, until the gorgons attacked Sel'valos. The gigantic fleets of warships could be seen in the sky, blotting out the stars just two weeks after Kairu became a warrior. The Sel'valians fought bravely against the army of the damned, defending the planet for a staggering three months. The outnumbered Sel'valians were able to destroy just under half of the army, before they were defeated. During these three months, Kairu had suffered unimaginable pain, as his comrades, his friends around him died, he kept fighting though, bitterly against the Army of the Damned, hoping to protect his family, the ones who couldn't fight. When Kairu got word that the Gorgons had bombed his home city, leaving nothing but a crater and no survivors, he had lost all hope, knowing he now fought for a home that did not exist and for loved ones who were dead. Once the Sel'valian army was defeated the Gorgons had begun exterminating the Sel'valians, only interested in the resources. Kairu, with no home left on the destroyed planet escaped the planet, narrowly. He was already injured from the previous battles when he slipped into one of the Sel'valian's deep space recon ships. It had taken him quite a bit of time to sneak by the Gorgon's lines to get to the space docks. On his way off the planet, the Gorgons had spotted his ship as it made a bee-line for outer-space and opened fire. Kairu's ship had sustained heavy damage from the attacks, but his daring plan had worked, he escaped Sel'valos, but he had lost everything.
-Present-
Kairu's ship is heavily damaged, drifting through space seemingly by its own will. The only space in the ship with air to breath is the cockpit and the inner hallway of the ship. The ships hull has multiple holes in it where plasma cannon fire has penetrated, and the ship only runs on two of its four engines, the other two damaged beyond repair. The ship can not hold out much longer, and Kairu fears he will have to make an emergency landing.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
Kairu flinched as another screeching sound came from the engine room, most likely one of the damaged engines trying to start up again in vain, the mangled inner-workings of the engines probably hitting something that was not there before the engine was nearly destroyed with a plasma cannon. Kairu would not be surprised if another engine blew up.
Thankfully when the last one blew up, the blast shields that protected the cockpit protected him, but he doubted the shield could withstand another explosion. As the dieing ship creaked along, Kairu could only hope the Gorgons hadn't pursued him, but they probably were not, considering the ship didn't explode from a direct plasma cannon hit.
As Kairu passed by a small terrestrial planet his second engine blew, the explosion shook the whole ship. Kairu was thrown across the cockpit by the explosion hitting the metal wall hard. But Kairu did not hear himself hit the wall, he was left with only a ringing noise in his ears. Kairu laid on the floor for a moment in a daze before he felt it, he let out a howl in pain as his ears bled, he clawed at his ears trying to make the paralyzing pain go away but the attempts were futile, only instinct made cup his hands over his ears to stop the bleeding. Kairu felt like he was dipping in and out of consciousness as his whole head throbbed. He closed his eyes for a moment, hoping the pain would diminish at least enough for him to think straight.
Luckily the throbbing subsided slightly. Kairu went through a mental checklist. He was in a ship, fleeing from gorgons, and the ship's last engine just blew up. Kairu slowly opened his eyes now, the sight he saw didn't please him. Most of the lights in the cockpit had gone out, leaving the room very dark, except for a few flashing emergency lights, and smoke was slowly starting to seep into the room. As fast as he dared, Kairu crawled across the room, trying not to move his head to quickly, afraid the mind-numbing pain would return.
As Kairu climbed into the chair in front of the flight controls and looked out of the ship's windows in the front, his blood ran cold. The outside of the ship was already outlined in a cone of fire as it was entering the atmosphere of the small planet. The force of the explosion must of been so huge that it pushed the ship off course towards the planet. Kairu could only hope that the emergency landing parachutes were still intact to break his fall.
